Tasks
-Assist craft workers, such as carpenters, ironworkers, plasterers and masons -Install or repair sanitary or storm water sewer structures or pipe systems -Measure, mark, or record openings or distances as part of site preparation -May be called upon to operate a variety of power and hand tools: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, mechanical hoists, surveying, measuring and other equipment -Use picks, shovels, and rakes to level earth or asphalt to grade specifications -Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy/highway construction projects -Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue. -Install or use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, or transit levels. -Promote and adhere to the company’s safety program. -Regularly push/pull objects -Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach and grasp with hands and arms. -Load, unload, or distribute materials, machinery, or tools to and from designated locations -Cover pipes with earth or other materials. -Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth -Maintain clean work area by disposing of trash and debris properly. -Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete, using saws, hammers, nails or bolts -Climb intermittently -Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials -Cut pipes to required lengths. -Work site set up, maintenance, and cleanup, to include scaffolding construction and dismantling, barricade locating, and equipment locating. -Direct traffic at or near building sites and carry out other traffic management activities -Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment. -Tends pumps, compressors, or generators -Regularly twist, bend, stoop, kneel and crouch to perform duties

What You Bring
-3+ recent years' experience working as a Pipe Layer. -Public Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions. -Active Driver’s license -Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public -Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 75 pounds on a regular basis, and sometimes heavier weight. -Able to communicate effectively with jobsite supervisor and co-workers -Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. -Agility, balance, and manual dexterity, as well as arm-hand steadiness -Good vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus -General knowledge of road construction processes. -Excellent hand, eye and foot coordination. -Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. -High School diploma or general education degree (GED) -Regularly reach above shoulder level -Ability to operate a variety of tools and equipment such as hand tools, power tools and motorized equipment. -Intermittent sitting; continuous walking on construction site. -Constant physical effort, including extended standing for at least 8 hour shift -Ability to work nights and weekends when necessary -Able to hear and respond to oral instructions in a noisy environment. -Must have reliable transportation, and ability to travel to assigned worksites -Ability to listen, follow directions, and have a willingness to continue to enhance skills -Building and Construction - Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of structures such as highways and roads,
