Yard Worker

Overview

Assist shipping yard duties, load products safely, maintain a clean, safe environment.

Tasks

-Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. -Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. -Checking invoices and verifying that correct product is provided. -Opening and closing duties as needed in the yard. -Complete Field Level Risk Assessments before beginning each task. -Receive oral instructions to determine work assignments. -Maintaining a clean and safe work environment for employees and customers. -Participate in daily Pre-Production Meetings. -Assist with daily upkeep of the department including offloading trucks, organizing stock, and maintaining pallets and stock. -Assist in loading products safely and efficiently.

What You Bring

-Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests. -Able to lift 50 lbs. -Good communication skills. -Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including Saturdays. -Able to work well with others. -Able to work in a fast paced, high production environment. -Able to work unsupervised. -Prior experience in a precast plant would be an asset.
