The Role

Overview

Develop and implement a Supplier Quality Management System for elevator components.

Tasks

-Tactical Execution – Conduct on-site supplier audits, plan incoming inspections, and lead rapid containment for supplier-related quality issues. -Supplier Performance Management – Develop, enforce, and continuously improve supplier approval, auditing, and scorecard processes to evaluate performance and drive improvement. -Inspection Oversight – Oversee and optimize incoming inspection and quality control processes across multiple sites. -Cross-Functional Alignment – Drive alignment between Sourcing, Procurement, Engineering, and Operations to ensure unified problem-solving and escalation. -Metrics & Reporting – Track, review, and communicate key supplier quality KPIs (e.g., DPPM, OTD, cost of poor quality) to leadership. -Design & Implementation – Build the Supplier Quality Management System from the ground up, ensuring alignment with ISO standards and business goals. -System Scalability – Establish scalable processes, mentor supplier quality team members, and implement supplier development practices to proactively mitigate risk.

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related technical field (Master’s preferred -Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to supplier sites -Up to 33% travel required -Experience working with metal casting suppliers (e.g., gray iron, ductile iron, aluminum) -Proven track record in supplier approval, auditing, and scorecard development -Preferably background in electronic manufacturing standards (IPC, soldering, PCB assembly, ESD controls) -Proficiency in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, and ISO 9001 implementation -Data-driven mindset with ability to develop and track key quality performance metrics -Strong communication, influencing, and cross-functional collaboration skills -3+ years of experience in supplier quality
