Principal/Senior Engineer - Civil

Overview

Lead civil/geotechnical design for power, water, renewable and transmission projects.

Tasks

-Prepare Specification of site investigations including soil sampling, borehole drilling, and in-situ testing. -Design foundations, retaining structures, embankments, and slope stabilization systems. -Review design of Power, Water and Renewable Plant Civil Engineering Drawings and Documents to ensure the quality and timely delivery of civil deliverables. -Technical evaluation of tenders, vendor offers, bids. Preparation and closure of clarifications and report preparation. -Actively Collaborate with WSP ME office on project and business development related activities. -Lead the proposal and bidding work for all power & network related projects. -Review of geotechnical reports, risk assessments, and design recommendations. -Analyze soil, rock, groundwater, and other geotechnical data to assess site conditions. -Making and maintaining appropriate commitments to project teams and coordinating design activities with multi-disciplined project team members. -Ensure adherence to relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations. -Coordination with other inter discipline team like Electrical, Instrumentation and process to ensure cross disciplinary excellence. -Collaborate with civil, structural, and environmental engineers on project planning and execution. -Provide technical support during tendering and project development phases. -Engage in training sessions and meetings dedicated to addressing targeted organizational initiatives.

What You Bring

-Willingness to visit client offices/project sites in ME as and when required. -Ability to lead the projects and deal the client with hands on experience in project management activities. -Preferably familiar with ME projects. Experience of working in a lead role on large size capital projects in India/ME while the ME experience will be an added advantage. -Experience in Power, Water and Renewable e.g. solar, wind and BESS projects is preferred. -Strong understanding of soil-structure interaction -Possess a Graduate or Post Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution, Master’s in Geotechnical is preferable. -Experience of working on projects with Middle East Utilities like SEC/NGSA/TRANSCO will be strong differentiator. -Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India. -Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
