Field Engineer - Kiewit Power Constructors

Field Engineer builds and manages power generation construction projects.

Tasks

-Foster and maintain strong relationships with owners and stakeholders -Support both administrative and field operations: review drawings/specs, perform material takeoffs, and prepare cost estimates -Collaborate with a dynamic team to build, estimate, and schedule, mechanical, electrical, and heavy industrial construction projects -Supervise subcontractors, coordinate with vendors, and uphold high construction standards -Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Ensure quality control, manage and track costs, purchase and manage materials, and maintain schedule and equipment logistics -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Prepare detailed work plans and schedules to guide project execution -Administer safety programs with strict adherence to Kiewit’s “Nobody Gets Hurt” philosophy

What You Bring

-Attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies -Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Hard Dollar, Revit, SAP, Pro Log or Primavera “P6” is a plus -Willingness to relocate and travel as required -Regular, reliable attendance -Exceptional organizational and time management skills -Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering -Strong written and verbal communications skills -Familiarity with project scheduling and cost control techniques -Able to work independently and part of a collaborative environment -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Physically able to navigate active construction site in varying climates and conditions -Knowledge of construction safety and current OSHA standards -Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and owner specifications -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment -Highly motivated with strong work ethic and a commitment to getting the job done right
