Tasks

-Ensure our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible -Undertake design of complex electronic circuit assemblies or architectures, from concept through to system integration & qualification -Lead discussions with a multi-disciplinary team (systems, mechanical, software, safety, etc) to develop an optimum solution -Offering an interview to disabled people who meet the minimum criteria for the job -Present robust engineering solutions at design reviews -Generate electronics specifications, architectures, and development or verification plans -Anticipating and providing reasonable adjustments as required -Supporting any existing employee who acquires a disability or long term health condition, enabling them to stay in work at least one activity that will make a difference for disabled people -Contribute to the development of the wider electronics team, including mentoring junior members of staff, overseeing the implementation of improvements and reviewing the work of peers -Monitor progress of work against cost, schedule and performance -Communicating and promoting vacancies -Support the bid process through generation of estimates and consultancy on electronic solutions -Work collaboratively with the project team to ensure products meet all their requirements and comply with regulatory safety and environmental standards -Development of electronic products in a formal environment

What You Bring

The role covers all aspects of the product lifecycle, from requirements through specification, concept studies, design and development, integration, validation and qualification. This is an opportunity for an experienced electronics engineer to build on their existing technical skills, widen their systems understanding and develop their career. We are looking for an energetic and driven individual with broad expertise, however of particular interest would be candidates with defence or aerospace electronics experience. -Strong demonstrated experience of electronic design throughout the design lifecycle -Holds or able to obtain SC -Degree level qualification in Electronics Engineering or closely related discipline. -Proficient in the generation of sub-system requirements/procurement specs -Ability/willingness to work minimum 3 days per week at the client site in Reading or Glasgow -UK sole National -BPSS Cleared -Experience testing at circuit board and system level (e.g. board bring-up and debug, EMC testing) -General understanding of engineering process and design lifecycles applicable for the development of high reliability military electronics -A lower qualification would be acceptable for example HNC/HND should the candidate be able to demonstrate significant demonstrable relevant experience in lieu -Proficient in the use of schematic capture packages (Cadence, Mentor Graphics or similar)
