Material Handler (MRO)

Overview

Handles inbound/outbound shipments, verifies counts, stages material, and maintains inventory.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from trucks and trailers; checks against suppliers count and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers, supervisor, and purchasing department per company policy. -Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions. -Performs inspections on received material and product; document and refuse delivery if material and product does not meet quality standards. -Maintains inventory management systems to ensure that orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting or other associated departments, as required. -Load and unload deliveries using forklifts, dollies, or hand trucks in a safe manner. -Stage received material and product in appropriate location. -Create shipping and receiving receipts within system. -Stages product in appropriate staging area for pick up by shipping carrier.

What You Bring

-High School Diploma or equivalent -At least one year of experience in shipping and receiving, logistics, or any related field -Solid organizational and time management skills -Strong analytical, problem-solving, detail-oriented skills -Familiar with cycle counting, picking and posting, and working with an MRP/ERP system -Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) -Excellent verbal and written communication skills
