Administers IT infrastructure on USCGC Healy ship, supporting scientific research.

Tasks

-Follows security management practices, auditing of server logs, and other security management processes. -Provide local site administration of IT infrastructure: Server, security, networking, storage systems, client systems. -Performs shell and kernel-level programming and system-specific requirements. -Provides proactive maintenance of virtualization server hardware and hypervisor, including security patching and driver/firmware updates to optimize performance and availability of applications. -Implements policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure server security. -Manage and tune data center monitoring tools to ensure availability of critical hosts and services. -Troubleshoots and resolves incidents related to virtual server infrastructure, compute, storage, and data protection environments. -Ensures availability, reliability, and scalability of servers to meet business demands. -Troubleshooting of Laptops/desktops.

What You Bring

-Microsoft Active Directory, including user accounts and Group Policies. -Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test. -Must be able to work underway on the ship for up to 30 days or more at a time. -Responsible, self-motivated, and able to work with limited supervision. -Experience with hardware and software troubleshooting. -Microsoft Active Directory experience in Group Policies and Users Accounts. -Ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance. -1+ years of background in enterprise server hardware administration. -Must be able lift and carry 25 lbs. -Following certifications: CCNA, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA). -Strong technical documentation and writing skills. -User administration in Active Directory, Office 365, and other systems. -Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record pertinent to position. -2+ years of relevant IT experience in a similar role. -Available to provide occasional on-call support as required. -Solid background in Windows Server 2016 and later. -Windows Server 2016 and later experience. -Must be able to climb on a ladder to ten feet. -Knowledge in server technologies, including server hardware, storage, backup solutions, data, and security. -U.S. Citizenship. -1+ years of experience with network stack and fundamentals. -Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
