Tasks

-Propose innovative alternatives for both permanent and temporary works to enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability. -Carry out technical assessments of permanent works designs during tender and delivery stages, highlighting design risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options. -Provide technical mentoring and training to site-based staff, including Temporary Works Coordinators and Engineers, ensuring consistent best practice across projects. -Represent the company’s engineering expertise externally — building strong relationships with design consultants, subcontractors, and supply chain partners. -Support the continuous improvement of the in house engineering and design assurance processes, promoting a culture of technical excellence. -Develop and design in-house temporary works schemes to support construction activities at both tender and site stages. -Collaborate with pre-construction, design management, and delivery teams to ensure robust, efficient, and buildable engineering solutions.

What You Bring

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a blend of technical design, problem solving, and collaboration, supporting both pre-construction and live site operations. -Chartered or near-chartered Structural or Civil Engineer - preferred but not essential. -Proactive problem-solver with a passion for innovation and quality in engineering. -Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence design decisions and support project delivery teams. -Proven background in structural design review and temporary works (can be trained), ideally within a main contractor or multidisciplinary consultancy environment. -Strong technical understanding of construction methods, materials, and buildability.
