Construction Materials Labratory Technician

Overview

Perform concrete lab testing and analysis per ASTM standards.

Tasks

-Develop skills required for specialized laboratory testing -Work additional hours and weekends to complete tasks on or ahead of schedule -Demonstrate compliance with all required safety protocol -Maintain accurate recordkeeping and detailed laboratory analyses, reports, and field notes -Demonstrate compliance with all required safety protocols -Maintain a neat and professional appearance along with polite and respectful behavior -Maintain routine laboratory instruments and testing equipment according to manufacturer's instructions and relevant ASTM standards -Use correct techniques and materials in accordance with industry standards, (e.g., ASTM, AASHTO) -Attend or complete weekly safety meetings or topics -Keep work areas orderly and assigned equipment clean and in good working order -Compile accurate and detailed data, reports, and laboratory analyses

What You Bring

-Detail-oriented and organized with electronic information as well as physical samples -Must be able to lift and/or move at least 50 pounds. -Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent. College coursework or degree encouraged. -Perform calculations utilizing basic mathematical skills -Communicate clearly both orally and in writing -Be responsive and professional when interacting with clients -Proficient in Microsoft Office software, particularly: Word, Excel, & Outlook
