Overview

Estimate electrical project costs and manage take-offs for commercial/industrial jobs.

Tasks

-Prepare purchase orders, material orders and documentation to support bidding and project execution. -Perform detailed commercial and industrial electrical take-offs from blueprints, specifications, and project documents. -Contribute to cost-control initiatives, value-engineering strategies and bidding processes to enhance overall project profitability. -Create accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors and vendors for electrical contracting projects. -Confer with subcontractors, suppliers and vendors, negotiate pricing, leverage local market knowledge and build strong vendor relationships. -Collaborate with project managers, design engineers and field teams to ensure alignment and value-engineering opportunities. -Visit job sites to assess progress, maintain logs, evaluate work status, and troubleshoot scope changes. -Maintain organized documentation, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and confidently communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

What You Bring

-Proficient in blueprint reading, specification interpretation, material take-offs and cost estimating. -Minimum of 2 years of relevant estimating or take-off experience in electrical contracting or construction (commercial/industrial environment preferred). -Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to negotiate and collaborate effectively with vendors and internal teams. -High school diploma required; college degree in construction management, electrical engineering or related field preferred. -Experience with estimating software - AccuBid is preferred - and intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel. -Must be able to pass a background screening. -Ability to multitask, stay organized, self-motivated and proactive in a fast-paced estimating environment.
