CAD Technician

Overview

Assist engineers in roadway design using OpenRoads, drafting, calculations, and QC.

Tasks

-Contribute to project production sheets by adding dimensions and laying out plans, title and detail sheets on production sets of plans -Provide assistance to engineers using OpenRoads Designer to create roadway plan sets and perform minor design work on roadway projects -Research design options and documents findings -Research applicable design codes and guidelines to ensure design compliance -Perform quality control reviews of design plans and calculations -Coordinates assignments with project team and supervisor -Work with engineers to develop 3D models using both OpenRoads Designer -Prepare minor mathematical calculations and quantity calculations for roadway/bridge projects

What You Bring

-Under 3 years experience will be evaluated if applicant has a degree in Computer Aided Drafting or similar field -3-15 years of prior experience with roadway drafting -A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR) -Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team environment -Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines -Experience in OpenRoads Designer is preferred -Degree in Computer Aided Drafting or similar field is preferred -Valid driver’s license -Associate degree from a technical or four-year school
