Commodity Manager

Overview

Manages end-to-end procurement of electrical & structural commodities for HVDC project.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Manage Owner approval of designated materials prior to PO release (as per project contract documents). -Maintain package status and forecast reports to align with the Engineering Deliverables List. -Ensure all procurement records and QA documentation meet contract close-out requirements. -Develop RFQ packages and bid tabs in line with project contract documents and the Division of Responsibility. -Draft and negotiate POs and subcontracts with defined delivery, QA, FAT, and warranty terms. -Enforce specification compliance for commodity-specific requirements (ANSI/IEEE/NEMA/AISC standards). -Participate in weekly procurement coordination with project controls and construction. -Coordinate with Engineering and QA/QC on design review, FAT planning, and document submittals. -Support Owner and project contract document technical reviews and testing participation. -Lead supplier qualification, pre-award clarifications, and commercial evaluations. -Track manufacturing progress, FAT dates, and approval cycles in alignment with 60% / 90% / IFC milestones.

What You Bring

-AC/DC station service panelboards, batteries, and chargers -Instrument transformers, disconnect switches, and insulators -Strong commercial and technical knowledge of substation commodities (panelboards, transformers, steel structures, disconnects, etc.). -Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain , Engineering, or Construction Management (CPSM preferred). -7–10 years’ experience in substation or transmission equipment procurement (utility or EPC environment). -Demonstrated capability managing multi-package procurement in compliance-driven environments.
