Administers payroll, HR functions, benefits, and employee records for a crane rental firm.

Tasks

-Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, and helping resolve work-related problems. -Reconciles errors and maintains payroll records. -Provide terminated employees with assistance. -Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages and employee benefits. -Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates. -Calculates and processes Federal and State tax and social security withholdings, union dues, and other deductions, insurance, benefits, pension/retirement, 401(k) contributions and company match, and profit sharing. -Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives. -Administers processing of organization's payroll and collects payroll data to maintain accurate payroll records. -Reconciles payroll deposits, tax withholdings, wage garnishments, and voluntary deductions. -Fields and responds to payroll inquiries and resolves discrepancies as required. -Reviews and processes payroll adjustments, including paid time off. -Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices. -Audits payroll information for accuracy. -Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems. -Participates in problem solving and special projects within the Payroll Department. -Performs actions necessary to track and determine regular and overtime pay, and factors commission-based income or bonuses into an employee's salary. -Assures that payroll-related transactions are processed in compliance with external and internal policies. -Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination. -Handles processing of employee status changes, analyzes payroll and employee expenses, assures general ledger accounts are reconciled; creates on-going month-end, quarterly, and year-end organization reports

What You Bring

-Must be able to work 40 hours a week and overtime as needed -Maintains knowledge of rules and laws which govern the payroll administration practices. -Able to sit for longs periods of time -Advanced knowledge of HRIS systems is required, preferably with UltiPro. -Able to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines -Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word. -Able to use phone, computer and other office equipment
