Tasks

Reporting to the Director of IT, as the Cybersecurity Architect you define and maintain the strategic security architecture, mitigating threats, and ensure compliance with industry standards. You also implement security solutions, assess risks, and promote a culture of security awareness through continuous improvement and education. -Maintaining advanced knowledge of regulatory, industry, security, and privacy standards. Making recommendations to security policies, directives, and guides to ensure Qualico’s security program evolves to new standards. -Cultivating a culture of security awareness and arranging continuing education of employees to ensure policies are always adhered to. -Identifying and risk assessing control strengths/weaknesses and opportunities for improvement of current/proposed infrastructures. -Responding to and investigating security incidents and providing thorough post-event analyses. -Creating trusting and successful working relationships. -Assessing, recommending, designing, and implementing security products and services. -Providing guidance and mentorship to other members of the Cybersecurity team. -Reviewing existing architecture, identifying design gaps, and recommending and implementing security enhancements. -Maintaining strategic security architecture vision, including reference architectures and frameworks that are aligned with the overall business strategy. -Maintaining security and compliance audits, internal/external penetration analysis, and vulnerability research. -Taking responsibility for the outcomes of decisions and actions.

Overtime may occasionally be required. -Advanced understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, and authorization. -Understanding current as well as emerging security threats and design security architecture to mitigate threats where possible. -Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle. -Post-secondary education and training in IT is required. -Advanced knowledge in the following is required: Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Backup/Recovery strategies, LAN/WAN Network Architecture, Virtualization technologies, Firewall/VPN’s. -A strong communicator; you clearly express your thoughts in conversation as well as write and present in a persuasive and influencing manner. -Excellent service oriented; you handle relations with customers, internal and external parties with tact and diplomacy. -10 years of experience in the IT industry, in which 5 is in cybersecurity. -A creative problem solver; you think outside the box for solutions without fear of failure. -Detailed oriented; you focus on detailed accuracy when dealing with a high volume of work. -Satisfactory verification of criminal record check. -Organized; you effectively manage your time while balancing multiple priorities.
