The Role

Assist engineering team with data analysis, pipeline operations, and reporting.

Tasks

-Assist in the review of third-party documents -Ensuring all engineering work is reviewed and approved by a licensed Professional Engineer in accordance with APEGA guidelines. -Compile data and information to perform engineering assessments to support changes in pipeline operational status. -Conduct data analysis to identify common themes in pipeline systems. -Perform basic hydraulics under the supervision of a professional engineer -Investigate pipeline historical operational conditions and create elevation maps. -Ensure all work aligns with IPL’s Core Values and EH&S Policy. -Liaise with support systems personnel involved with day-to-day system operations and maintenance, verify input data pertaining to physical configuration, operations and control systems, and gain practical experience and knowledge of the systems -Populate records management system with construction data (historical pressure test documentation, materials test records, coating types, etc.) -Assist recording and tracking of asset integrity key performance indicators (KPI) -Attend site visits with other IPL personnel -Assist in data gathering and reporting for regular information requests. -Coordinate Management of Change (MOC) activities -Assist in data gathering and analysis to answer questions from internal stakeholders, including Commercial, Operations Management, and Project Development -Plan and execute system rate tests and analysis of results -Maintain compliance with applicable regulations and IPL standards. -Support process of pipeline self-imposed pressure restrictions: documentation, tracking and resolving.

-Enrolled in a 3rd year Bachelor of Engineering degree at an accredited Canadian university. -Adaptable and open to change. -Highly organized with attention to detail. -Solid understanding of engineering and business fundamentals. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. -Demonstrate superior performance in Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) and compliance. -Excellent written and verbal communication.
