Tasks

-Perform surveying and layout work on heavy civil construction projects. -Assist in the preparation of survey documentation, reports, and records. -Conduct field data collection and site stakeout for construction and design purposes. -Operate and maintain surveying equipment, including GPS units, total stations, and data collectors. -Adhere to safety protocols and support field crews with technical surveying needs. -Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and project plans.

What You Bring

-Awkward positions: Ability to transition between standing, sitting, and kneeling as needed during inspections or task direction -Proficiency with survey instruments such as total stations, GPS, and levels. -Climbing: Must have the physical capability to safely climb on and off of mobile equipment that is greater than 6 feet off the ground on uneven terrain multiple times daily on uneven terrain. -Proximity Hazards: Must remain alert and work safely around active equipment, moving vehicles, and public traffic zones. -Associate’s degree or higher in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; or equivalent work experience. -Working knowledge of surveying principles, construction layout, and measurement techniques. -Work Environment: Must be able to work outdoors in a heavy civil construction setting, with exposure to uneven terrain, dust, dirt, heavy equipment, and varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain). -Vision: 20/40 corrected vision to see moving safety hazards, moving equipment, vehicles, and -Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team. -Hearing: Corrected to hear verbal safety warnings and -Lifting: Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs. of survey equipment and materials. -Effective communication skills and the ability to interpret and apply technical information. -Balance: Including standing and walking on extremely slick and uneven surfaces while -Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and travel to project sites as needed.
