Tasks

-Conduct on-site evaluations to assess existing conditions and confirm scope accuracy. -Compile thorough estimates that include materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracted work. -Sit, talk, and hear for extended periods. -Utilize estimating software to input data, generate reports, and maintain cost databases. -Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members to ensure mutual understanding of project expectations. -Move about active job sites, including climbing ladders or stairs. -Maintain both close and distance vision to review drawings and on-site conditions. -Review and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates. -Participate in company and client meetings or conference calls as needed. -Assist in sourcing and purchasing project materials, issuing purchase orders, and scheduling deliveries. -Identify potential cost savings through supplier relationships and volume discounts. -Track and evaluate actual project costs versus estimates to identify areas for process improvement. -Solicit and negotiate pricing with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain competitive quotes. -Maintain and update pricing databases to ensure ongoing accuracy and consistency. -Work in varied environments, including offices and construction sites. -Support project teams with cost analysis, change orders, and scope adjustments as needed. -Monitor project scope and proactively communicate discrepancies or concerns to leadership. -Analyze and review subcontractor quotes for accuracy and completeness. -Represent the company with professionalism, tact, and integrity in all interactions. -Maintain detailed records, purchase logs, and other related documentation. -Use hands to type, handle tools, or operate computer systems. -Prepare and submit detailed written proposals and bid packages. -Assist with permitting coordination as required.

What You Bring

-Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Windows applications. -Must have reliable transportation to travel to project sites and client locations. -Excellent negotiation and analytical skills with keen attention to detail. -Proficiency with estimating and project management software. -Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. -Strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities. -Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. -Effective written and verbal communication skills. -Must be 18 years of age or older. -Proven experience in general contracting and construction estimating. -High level of integrity, initiative, and commitment to accuracy. -Reliable transportation for site visits and client meetings. -Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. -Professional demeanor and strong relationship-building skills. -Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
