Senior Substation Designer

Tasks

-Follow all company, client and project design and drafting standards. -Lead, coach and mentor junior designers and CAD technicians to deliver substation design projects. -Coordinate with other disciplines to develop a fully coordinated design. -Execute changes to designs or sketches and redlines or mark-ups to project deliverables. -Interpret and incorporate design codes and client specifications related to design requirements. -Prepare 3D models and 2D drawings of HV substations including: single‐line diagrams, substation physical layouts, conduit and cable plans and details, grounding grid plan and details, lightning protection and yard lighting plans, and bills of materials. -Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, models, and ensure all project-related information is stored in a logical and well-structural manner. -Work with engineers and incorporate feedback into design package.

What You Bring

-Experience performing substation design in BIM software (Inventor, SDS-P4A, Primtech) is preferred. -Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools – MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook -Atleast 6 years of related experience. -Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs. -Proven experience in 15kV through 345kV physical utility substation design and IEEE/ANSI standards. -Advanced understanding of design software such as: AutoCAD and MicroStation. -Associate Degree in technology or related discipline
