The Role

Manage data center construction projects from planning through commissioning.

Tasks

-Review monthly billing with team, confirm substantiation and audit vs budget. -Leading commissioning of critical systems integration across new customer builds and existing data centers. -Ensure project team aligns with project turnover documentation requirements to Operations. -Handle inputs and delivery of work products with internal team members to ensure that new data center spaces follow all applicable client requirements. -Coordination and logistical planning for all OFCI equipment. -Management of project scope, safety, schedule, stakeholder, data center work rules, and budget. -Report to assigned Client's Special Projects team and manager. -RFP development, pre-bid planning, oversight, and coordination. -QA/QC work of assigned projects to confirm accuracy. -Drive day-to-day construction decisions to conclusion. -Project set up with project budget and schedule creation including oversight. -Leading all design phases and document management working internally with stakeholder groups and SME’s. -Work closely with Operations to coordinate design criteria and construction with ongoing maintenance and operation of existing facilities. -Coordination and supervision of contractors. Either traditional contractors or design build contractors. -Management in contractor safety performance. -Hand-off of physical data center and project documents to customer and operations. -Drive all aspects of construction including pre-construction, design development, permitting and entitlements, competitive bid process, team selection, construction oversight, commissioning, and project closeout. -Partner with Base Building Director(s), Construction Cost & Finance to produce monthly project forecasts including variance analyses as well as execution of Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and project authorizations for new and existing contractors and vendors. -Oversight of physical construction activities on site. -Ensure ‘lessons learned’ are held and placed in the feedback loop to drive continuous improvement. -Act as project leader, drive coordination and integration of internal customers within the project. -For assigned construction projects, manage General Contractors and vendors project management resources. -Establish and track project budgets. Submit approval packages to TOF approval group. -Manage assigned portfolio execution on projects from concept through commissioning and prepare various reports on a monthly and/or quarterly basis.

What You Bring

-Experience in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) construction management is a requirement. -Sophisticated and technical construction experience is required. -Knowledge of Procore software preferred. -Vendor/Contractor management including qualification and relationship building/maintenance. -5+ years of project management experience is required, 7-10 years is preferred. -Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or a similar field. -Travel may be required and could grow, but will be assessed by the project team. -Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools like MS Project or P6. -Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions. -Data Center and General Contractor experience is preferred.
