Tasks

-Management of utility interconnection processes for Front-of-the-Meter and Behind-the-Meter DG projects from interconnection application to operation -Evaluation of interconnection risk for new opportunities as well as later-stage projects, including interpretation of public utility queue data to inform application submission strategy -Supervision of interconnection schedule and payments, including periodic updates and summaries of all active projects to management -Has the motivation and focus to distill key information from utility interconnection tariffs -Ownership of utility relationships and monitoring of utility performance to tariff deadlines

-Bachelor’s degree -Broad knowledge of distributed generation interconnection challenges and opportunities—past, present, and future -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Forward-thinking and undaunted by challenges of new market entry; has the drive and creativity to establish successful queue positions despite conflicting rules or gaps in policy -Expertise in utility tariffs, system design, and utility technical standards -Strong technical understanding of solar and battery storage facility design and system components -Track record of negotiations with utility staff that have improved interconnection outcomes -Skilled at time management and prioritization -Skilled interpretation of technical interconnection studies and ability to distill and communicate critical insights to all stakeholders -3-5 years’ experience in utility interconnection -Strong interpersonal skills; existing relationships with electric utility staff are a plus -Master’s degree in business or policy is preferred -Demonstrated team player with success collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
