Senior Electrical Designer

Overview

Design detailed electrical drawings, support projects, supervise junior staff in oil & gas.

Tasks

-Liaise with suppliers, clients, consultants or commissioning engineers concerning the design, installation or construction. -Respond to technical queries. -Preparation of engineering drawings and documentation. -Checking of materials purchased and equipment for conformity with specifications. -Check drawings and documentation are fit for the purpose they are intended and for conformity with the project execution plan. -Work scheduling and project planning. -Interpretation and interfacing of third-party design documents into project design.

What You Bring

-Attention to Detail and capable of self-checking modification to redlines. -Associate Degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering / Design / Drafting or related field. -Training in 2D and 3D CAD software. -Functional skills in the use of SmartPlant review and other 3D modelling software. -Familiar with ANSI dimensioning standard. -Experienced with AutoCAD 18 or newer version and Navisworks. -Knowledge with NEC a plus. -Functional MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Etc.) -Experience with SPEL, AutoCAD and MicroStation design software packages, AVEVA 2D/3D is a plus. -Familiar or Experienced with CADWOX Plant and P&ID would be a plus. -5 plus years’ experience in the oil and gas industry. -Functional skills in the use of LFM or other laser scan tools. -Experience with the SP3D, PDMS, PDS EERWAY 3D CAD system, participate in 3D model reviews. -Functional understanding of Electrical Estimating System to generate MTOs and BOMs. -Solid understanding of National Electric Code (NEC) and industry standards. -Experience should include familiarity with AutoCAD blocks, XREF, and 3D modelling. -Bachelor’s Degree. -Functional skills in the use of Microstation (Hexagon) 2D, AutoCAD or other 2D design.
