Tasks

-Under the direct supervision of a qualified employee, serves as an attendant as it pertains to department operations. -Secures, loads, delivers, unloads, assembles, places in position and distributes tools, materials, supplies and other equipment to higher classified employees as needed. -Under the direction of a qualified employee, sets up work area protective equipment, deenergized non-electric equipment, and performs related general housekeeping functions as necessary to maintain safe work areas. -Performs less involved routine manual assignments in conjunction with assisting higher classified employees in the performance of their assigned duties. Observes all operations of higher classified employees. Perform directed assignments as required. -Performs various ground attendant duties as they pertain to department operations. -Installs and operates various equipment as identified by work group leader. -Maintain proper housekeeping in -Under the direct supervision of a qualified employee, operates vehicle mounted equipment.

What You Bring

-Ability and willingness to work rotating shift work, on holidays and weekends, and overtime as required. -This position is a NERC Regulated position. As such, a background check will be conducted on the incumbent every seven years. Additionally, the incumbent will be required to complete annual NERC compliance training. -Ability and willingness to perform a second role in accordance with Pepco Holdings Emergency Preparedness Guidelines for all employees. -Ability and willingness to operate aerial lifts. -Must successfully pass a Criminal History Records Check. -Ability and willingness to travel to various Company locations and job sites. -Ability and willingness to work in a variety of work environments including: all weather conditions, at extreme heights (above 30 feet), in confined spaces or enclosed vessels, in dark areas or areas with limited lighting, and in hot, foul water, mud, dust, noxious fumes, noisy, and dirty environments with proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). -Ability and willingness to wear and use safety equipment as required by Federal, State, Local and Company regulations (for example, ear plugs, helmets, di-electric safety shoes, electrically insulated rubber gloves and sleeves, hard hat, fire retardant clothing, fall protection harness). -Must successfully pass qualification test(s). -Ability and willingness to work on or around hazardous equipment/materials (for example, open flames, heavy equipment, etc.), and/or energized electrical equipment (not within the minimum approach distance (MAD)). Ability and willingness to obtain a valid jurisdictional driver's license within twelve (12) months of hire date. -Ability and willingness to perform both indoor and outdoor tasks for extended periods of time (for example, lifting up to 90 pounds with assistance, climbing ladders, wooden poles, steel towers and scaffolding, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pulling/pushing, standing, walking, and squatting).
