The Role

Overview

Full-time CAD Technician creating telecom utility designs.

Tasks

-Communicates clearly with field teams, engineers, and project managers -Draft buried and aerial fiber route designs from field notes, KMZ, or survey data -Accurately place utilities, ROW, easements, property lines, and tie points -Label and annotate drawings per company and client standards -Performs quality control, redline correction, and self-checks effectively -Offset civil features (curbs, gutters, sidewalks, fences) as needed -Apply jurisdictional permitting requirements and standard engineering details -Incorporate supporting plats and coordinate with permitting guidelines

What You Bring

-Familiarity with OSP/ISP standards (BSW, UG, aerial, conduit systems) -Demonstrated experience with fiber design projects between 700-2000 feet in length -Capable of using standard templates and layer conventions for telecom builds -Organized, reliable, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment -Able to manage scope changes across multiple phases of a project -Proficient in AutoCAD (Map 3D preferred) for telecom or utility design -Ability to read and interpret base maps, plats, utility records, and field sketches -Experience drafting Plan & Profile views, As-Builts, and Fiber Routing -Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines -Proven ability to take a project from concept to 100% completion with minimal oversight -Intermediate knowledge of GIS platforms, shapefiles, and coordinate systems
