Overview
Design and draft substation structural drawings using AutoCAD and prepare related documentation.

Tasks
-Perform basic calculations and trigonometry functions associated with area, volume, slope (rise & run), etc. using charts and tables, as required, to complete work assignments. -Prepare detailed drawings of parts and assemblies from layouts, designs and working drawings including necessary projections, sectional views and standard specifications. -Implement revisions and change control per company standards at the direction of senior level designers and engineers. -Assemble information and reference drawings from a variety of sources. -Utilize engineering sketches, specifications and supporting documents in the designing, detailing, documenting, and verifying of civil/structural parts, subassemblies, assemblies or system configurations. -Check and verify the accuracy of drawings prepared by others. -Prepare bills of material (BOM) and specifications when drawings are complete. Revise drawings and BOM consistent with engineering changes. -Utilize 2D or 3D computer aided design software to create layouts of civil/structural systems, devices and components, and create fabrication and assembly drawings. -Check field red-lined drawings and generate accurate as-built drawings as needed.

What You Bring
-8+ years of experience developing substation structural drawings using AutoCAD. -Interpret verbal or written direction to initiate a preliminary design. -Ability to create and/or modify drawings from engineer-provided markups with a high level of attention to detail. -High School diploma, Certificate of Training in technical drafting or equivalent experience -Ability to sit/stand for up to 8 hours per day. -Ability to move freely for up to 8 hours per day.
