Tasks

The Commodity Manager is responsible for defining supply chain strategy and localizing critical material for Hithium BESS System factory in Texas. This position will be working closely with cross-functional teams including Supplier Quality Management, Engineering and Manufacturing to localize BESS supply chain to the US. As a commodity manager, your day-to-day job will involve US renewable policy interpretation, Material cost analysis, Supply chain strategy implementation, RFQ’s, RFP’s, Supplier Selection, Contract negotiation, Order management, Supplier performance evaluation, Request for payment etc. You will also be providing regular reports to the stakeholders. This position is preferred to be based in Texas. Working remotely is negotiable for outstanding candidates. -Work closely with local and HQ SQE, R&D and Engineering team to lead supplier selection, supplier qualification and supplier development activities. -Facilitate Supplier Quality team to timely resolve supplier quality issues. -Execute qualification PO in Hithium order management system (SAP). -Negotiate and execute Master Supply Agreements with suppliers. -Comply with company purchasing policies; execute purchasing processes. -Develop and maintain supplier relationships. -Work with material planning team on material purchasing quota allocation. -Initiate and participate in cost reduction, continuous improvement programs using cost analysis and value engineering tools -Study and understand US Renewable Energy policies that are affecting BESS supply chain. -Develop and implement supply chain strategies for assigned materials.

What You Bring

-Outstanding EXCEL and other Microsoft office skills and presentation skills. -Strong negotiation skills using cost analysis and value engineering tools. Successfully negotiated large supply contracts (over 10 million USD). -Outstanding communication skills. Including communication with suppliers as well as colleagues from different cultures. -Expertise in commodity management, familiar with the procurement and supplier selection, supplier development process for manufacturing. -Familiar with ERP system (SAP, Ariba). -Willing to travel up to 30%, including international travel. -Bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain. CPSM or other equivalent procurement related certifications is a plus. -Bilingual in English and Mandarin is preferred -5-8 years’ supply chain experience in relevant industries. Battery Storage, Power Generation, or EV battery experience is preferred. -Good knowledge of steel fabrication, electrical box assembly, wire harness, stamping, etc. manufacturing processes. -Mentally and physically healthy.
