The Role
Overview
Design electrical systems for transportation projects: power, lighting, EV charging, and controls.

Tasks
-Coordination with various disciplines and subconsultants to ensure the technical integrity of engineering design solutions delivered by other disciplines/teams on projects. -Prepare technical memos and reports to communicate results and recommendations. -Liaison with project team members, and other stakeholders regarding project requirements. -Perform short circuit, arc flash and protective device coordination studies using ETAP (or similar) power systems analysis software. -Conduct fieldwork including investigations, studies, and inspections for electrical systems -Incorporation of safety and risk analysis into equipment designs. -Liaise with clients, government regulatory authorities and contractors -Participate in feasibility/strategic studies related to the electrification of public transit networks. -Design of Electrical substations including equipment specification, and grounding system design. -Perform lighting level calculations using lighting software such as AGi 32, AutoLUX, etc. -Application of electrical safety codes and regulations to area of expertise and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. -Preparing engineering design drawings, layouts and specifications including but not limited to Single Line Diagrams, wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, protection systems, equipment lists, cable and panel schedules, emergency power distribution, etc. -Design of Electrical Vehicle Charging stations -Review progress and compliance construction with tender documents including review of shop drawings -Applying best practices and identifying innovative solutions, carry out engineering analyses and studies.

What You Bring
-Demonstrated initiative, drive, leadership, communication, & interpersonal skills. -Technologist diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from a reputed college or university -Well acquainted with transportation and transit related project activities. -Minimum five (5) years of progressive working experience in the field of electrical systems design, construction, Transit and/or Transportation system design and system integration -Excellent organization and planning skills – document control and reporting -C.E.T. or eligible or Professional Engineer eligible [E.I.T] in the province of Ontario. -Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects within a fastpaced environment. -Ability to work with minimum instructions and supervision, shall be able to complete tasks independently, shall make decisions and take responsibility on technical matters with input from senior engineers and project managers. -Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, electrical engineering modelling software such as ETAP, and Auto LUX / AGI32 lighting design software is preferred
