Overview

Operate and maintain heavy equipment for aggregate mining and production.

Tasks

-Observe safety procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly; leads by example -Operate heavy equipment, including, but not limited to, loaders, skid steers, water trucks, telehandlers, and service/pickup trucks used in aggregate mining and production operations; operate other tools and equipment as required for assigned tasks -complete any part of the application process -Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required -Assist with plant/crusher equipment maintenance and repair -Perform pre-operational inspection of equipment and detect mechanical and/or safety issues -Perform mobile equipment maintenance, including lubrication, replacing oil/fluids, re-fueling, and cleaning; assist with minor equipment repair tasks -Work closely with plant operators, drivers, and others to ensure efficient and safe mining and plant operation in support of efficient materials production -access or use the online application process and need an alternative method for applying -Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies -Embrace the Company’s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams -Regularly required to use hands to manipulate objects -Perform manual/physical tasks required in plant operation and maintenance activities

What You Bring

-Valid drivers’ license with ability to maintain a clean driving history required -Ability to interact professionally with others and clearly communicate with others -Ability to work in a team environment under general direction and supervision -Frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl -Proficiency in operation industrial and heavy equipment, including but not limited to skid steers, 903 loader, water truck, telehandler forklift, service/pickup trucks -Occasionally exposed to working from high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock -Regularly required to stand/work on feet for long periods, and walk across uneven terrain -Frequent exposure to loud noise -Ability to operate mobile devices and other technology used daily operations -Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear) -High school diploma or equivalent preferred -Ability to problem-solve -2 years of relevant experience and/or equivalent combination of training/experience in a similar role -Mining environment; regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, airborne particles, fuel/chemicals, loud noise, moving equipment/parts, and vibration -Ability to read and interpret signage and/or written instructions (safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc.) -MSHA certification or ability to obtain certification required -Regularly required to work from a seated position operating equipment for long periods -Communicate professionally with others in person, over the phone, and on company radio channels -Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance -Basic mechanical skill preferred, basic welding experience a plus -Frequently required to stand for long periods and walk across uneven terrain
