The Role

Overview

Design and detail foundations and structures for substations, ensuring quality and cost compliance.

Tasks

-Develop overall conceptual design plans in the initial development phase of new projects. -Establish and maintain professional relationships with our external business partners; Present information and respond to questions from individual or groups of clients. -Perform company’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes. -Coordinate with other engineering disciplines. -Design foundations using commercially available software such as LPILE. -Direct and/or participate in client meetings/job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data. -Develop steel structure models for rigid bus and equipment supports. -Mentor less experienced staff on a wide range of technical and project management skills. -Work with renewable energy developers and other clients with support specific to schedules and cost estimates.

What You Bring

-Experience in transmission, distribution and generating stations is a plus. -Bachelors of science or master's in civil engineering from an ABET accredited institution -Must have strong analytical and computer skills. Must be able to identify necessary software to complete needed design work. -4+ years of experience performing civil structural engineering calculations. -Proficient with drafting programs such as AutoCAD and MicroStation a plus. -Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required
