Overview

Assemble and install mechanical equipment and piping in a factory setting.

Tasks

-Load, unload, and identify materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications. -Verifies specifications by measuring completed component installation. -Contributes to the development and improvement of concepts, techniques, and procedures. -Work with shop foreman to ensure production goals are met. -Receives direct supervision in performing technical responsibilities. -Maintains time entry records accurately. -Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. -Drive continuous improvement through participation and providing input -Maintain workplace cleanliness daily -Communicate status of shop work orders to the shop foreman. -Grind, scrape, sand, or polish surfaces using abrasive tools or machines. -Perform material handling tasks as directed . -Move, lift and install parts, subassemblies and accessories using hand and power tools and hoists. -Maintains an appropriate level of communication with team members and supervisors -Interpret job orders and drawings as needed for the area of assignment. -Documents actions by completing production and quality forms. -Bolt, screw, or fasten components together using hand tools, power tools and equipment. -Operate trade-specific tools and machinery. -Accurately positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements. -Mark, record and report defects. -Interpret job orders and drawings as needed -Layout and fabrication of equipment and parts. -Clean and perform preparation of work area or cell. -Perform assembly and production tasks in a manner that is consistent with company policies and performance metrics with an attitude of excellence. -Brings energy to a team under the general supervision of an experienced professional or manager.
