Lead surveying for heavy civil marine projects, managing equipment, control and staff

Tasks

-Provide and maintain horizontal and vertical survey control, including all calculations, and maintain organized documentation of survey notes. Provides document control for all work.

What You Bring

-Demonstrates ability to perform layout and surveying, while providing leadership to direct Field Engineers as an instrument man or rodman. Ability to train and mentor Field Engineers and other members on calculations and documentation. -Possesses the ability to perform geometrical and mathematical calculations. In depth knowledge of advanced survey equipment; responsible for the selection, care and maintenance of all survey equipment. -Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology and/or advanced coursework in Surveying highly valued. -5 years experience in heavy civil construction environment, marine experience a plus. -Ability to manage and coordinate schedule to with operations.

-Operates from Glen Burnie, Maryland, with major yards in Baltimore and Chesapeake, supporting both land-based and marine work. -Self-performs complex infrastructure projects including bridge replacements, pier and bulkhead construction, and shoreline dredging. -Owns a substantial fleet of floating and land-based cranes, tugs, barges, and equipment, serving clients directly without subcontracting. -Typical clients include state DOTs and port authorities, delivering design-build bridges and marine infrastructure with engineering precision. -Also provides transloading and dredge spoil disposal services at a terminal on the James River under a terminal operating agreement.
