The Role

Overview

Design and route high‑speed NXP i.MX SOM/SBC boards using Altium Designer.

Tasks

-Design and validate power distribution networks and ensure signal integrity. -Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Testing (DFT) reviews, and participate in design reviews. -Generate and manage Bill of Materials (BOMs), design documentation, and PCB fabrication packages. -Collaborate with software, mechanical, and test teams for board bring-up and verification. -The role requires working closely with firmware and mechanical teams to deliver reliable hardware solutions. The preferred location for this position is onsite in the Milwaukee area. -Route high-speed digital signals and memory interfaces including DDR, eMMC, HDMI, USB, Ethernet, and LVDS.

What You Bring

-Advanced proficiency in Altium Designer for schematic and routing. -Strong understanding of high-speed design, impedance control, EMC, and power regulation. -Familiarity with communication buses such as USB, Ethernet, SPI, I²C, LVDS, and SDIO. -Complete lifecycle PCB schematic capture and layout in Altium Designer. -Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering. -Experience with IoT or wireless product design. -Experience with compliance and validation testing. -Proven experience in designing embedded SOM/SBC hardware, particularly with NXP i.MX. -Excellent documentation and collaboration skills. -Hands-on experience with board bring-up and debugging.
