The Role
Overview
Manage daily HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, benefits, and employee relations.

Tasks
-Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, aptitude exams, and certifications. -Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers and leadership to understand skills and competencies required for openings. -Conduct staff onboarding. Processes criminal background checks and employee eligibility verifications. Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation, and maintains I-9 files. Implements welcoming and organized new hire orientations. Handles all first-day details, including the new hire schedule, nameplates and badges, work emails, and company swag. Support volunteer onboarding, training programs, and background checks as needed. -Plan and schedule monthly staff meetings with an eye toward meaningful and informative content and creating opportunities to foster engagement and connection. Facilitate all staff-related events, including holiday celebrations, retreats, team sports, and Fun Days. -Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance. -Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation and leave; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. -Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring to complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. -Oversee Paychex time & attendance and paid leave requests for payroll. -Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. -Review benefit invoices to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions. -Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. -Be a leader in RMHFH’s Engagement and Culture Committee (ECC). Partner with the chair and staff to ensure HR and initiatives support RMHFH cultural values and action plan. Act as the point person for the committee. Facilitates the annual engagement survey process. -Support the COO and VP of Finance and Administration in developing safety training, meetings, and initiatives. -Administer system changes related to enrollment, status changes, and terminations (e.g., Ease and Paychex). Respond to staff inquiries and issues related to insurance and retirement plans.

Communicates with honesty and kindness and creates the space for others to do the same. -Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. -Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. -Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. -Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. -Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. -Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems. -Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. -A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field or equivalent training/direct experience. -Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
