The Role

Overview

Design, install, and support automation systems for critical infrastructure projects.

Tasks

-Perform factory acceptance testing and commissioning work to the company's quality procedures. -Provide maintenance, fault finding, diagnosis, repair, and upgrades / development as required. -Integration of the software and hardware components into one application. -Requirement capture and detailed design of the automation system, ensuring it is maintainable, extensible, reliable, efficient and consistent with company standards. -Liaise with the other teams and disciplines within the company and customers and suppliers at all levels to facilitate the design and produce requirements and other system documents. -Verification / validation of the system complete with hardware including with the power system under test. -Participate in Design reviews.

What You Bring

-Capable of working as part of a multi-disciplined team. -Industrial cyber Security, (IEC 62443, Perdue model). -Advanced and demonstrated years of experience of implementing automation systems. -Existing or the ability to obtain the higher levels of UK Security Clearance including “SC Clearance” and “UK Eyes Only Clearance “are required for this role. -Hands-on hardware troubleshooting and software debugging experience. -Exceptional organisational skills and experience with project management. -Data processing and analysis. -Knowledge of electrical circuit operation / design. -Familiar with industrial networks and their implementation. -Good verbal, written communication, and presentation skills. -Experience in PLC programming, HMI creation and SCADA configuration. -Excellent attention to detail. -Substation networking (61850, PRP). -Advanced analytical and problem solving skills. -Degree in engineering, computer science, or related field. -Proficient in a variety of industrial communication protocols (e.g. Modbus, Profinet, EtherCAT, OPC-UA). -Solid understanding of computer programming and software development. -Ability to prioritise and multi-task on a variety of projects to agreed time scales.
