Tasks

-Build trust and respect with the key operations leaders to manage any changes in roles and responsibilities as a result of implementing the One PPG EHS management system approach. Assure operational leaders and supervisors maintain adequate knowledge of their PPG EHS and legal responsibilities. -Guide operational and EHS staff in completing root cause investigations of incidents, audit findings and NOVs; Assist in defining corrective actions and verify corrective actions are sustained. -Deploy global and SBU EHS strategies within the region. -Assure that appropriate responsibilities are assigned, implementation barriers are addressed and planned actions are tracked to achieve the EHS strategic priorities. -Live the PPG Way by engaging and developing teams to create value for our businesses; Develop talent and a strong succession pipeline in the EHS function. -Collaborate with other Regional EHS Managers, SBU EHS Directors and various EHS COEs to improve PPG's EHS programs. -Define strategies, with support of the EHS Centers of Expertise, to interact with government agencies to maintain PPG's good reputation for maintaining regulatory compliance. -Identify and prioritize spending, obtain approval for EHS budgets within the region, and manage spending accordingly, in full alignment with operational leaders and corporate, business unit and regional guidelines. -Identify and prioritize resources necessary to achieve the EHS vison, priorities and goals. Work with operational leaders to define the business case for changes.

What You Bring

-In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety and/or environmental regulations and detailed knowledge of key business metrics, key drivers, business vision, and manufacturing processes/challenges as applicable to dive and align EHS objectives. -Prior management experience required. -Bachelor's degree in EHS field, engineering, chemistry or related science; Advanced degree/MBA or relevant certification would be advantageous. -The role requires the ability to travel within the USCA region. The travel commitments vary according to business needs. Approximately 25%-50% travel is expected. -12+ years of relevant experience.
