Tasks

-Maintains complete project files including a project photo file -Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with contractors, consultants, and owners -Responsible for actions and performance of junior-level Construction Inspectors -Schedules, plans, coordinates, and completes site inspections -Reviews contract plans and specifications for constructability, notes, errors, omissions and potential problem areas -Prepares monthly estimates of quantity of construction completed -Coordinates construction-related system outages with client facilities -Prepares complete inspection reports and maintains a daily diary -Keeps detailed records of construction progress, changed conditions, and as-built drawings -Inspects construction contracts related to water and wastewater facilities -Mentors and trains junior Construction Inspectors

-Ability to keep neat, accurate, and concise records -Earthwork experience -Proficient in MS Word and Excel -Ability to work independently with minimal supervision -Completion of OSHA 10-hour safety course and other construction training -Construction inspection certifications -Two year technical or associate degree in a related technical field -In-depth understanding of OSHA Construction Safety Orders -Strong computer and internet skills -Working knowledge of methods of soil compaction and density testing procedures, properties and uses of concrete, and techniques of handling, placing, curing and sampling concrete -2-8 years of responsible field inspection -In-depth understanding of earthwork -Strong oral and written communication skills -High school diploma or equivalent -In-depth knowledge of standard construction specifications, codes and special standards, methods, materials and equipment used in construction of water and wastewater facilities
