Tasks
-Schedule and execute projects efficiently, and via RMS Energy and client safety standards -Engage with clients and internal teams to maintain project alignment and clear communication -Verify SCADA metering, trip/alarm functions, and current/voltage inputs -Perform advanced testing of protection and control relays (electromechanical, solid state, and microprocessor) -Provide technical leadership, supporting other engineers and technicians in the field -Interpret complex schematics, test procedures, and utility specifications -Follow strict safety and PPE usage protocols due to noise, electrical hazards, and elevated work areas -Commission power equipment and control systems, including pilot wire, transfer trip, fiber, and line tuning devices -Diagnose and resolve issues in relaying and communications equipment in both new and legacy substations

What You Bring
-Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record -Experience with Power DB or similar electronic test documentation systems -Willingness to travel at least 70% of the time with periodic overnight stays -Skilled in interpreting electrical diagrams and schematics -Must pass a background and drug screening check -Experience with RMS Energy’s P&C standards, testing processes, or training programs -Self-starter with the ability to manage competing deadlines and team support needs -Extensive knowledge of 3-phase power systems, protection schemes, and test software -Demonstrated expertise in SCADA systems, fault/SER analysis, and integration automation -Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and test documentation tools -Strong verbal and written communication skills to lead field operations professionally -10+ years of direct experience in commissioning and relay testing -Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field -5+ years leading P&C project execution, relay settings coordination, and substation integration
