Overview

Prepare soil and water samples for GC/GCMS analysis in a laboratory.

Tasks

-Maintain laboratory equipment in acordance with the laboratory quality asurance program -Weigh and measure sample alliquots for preparation -Wash laboratory glassware as needed -Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment. -Prepare reagents and standards for daily use -Document required sample preparation details and observations -Retrieve samples from sample storage for preparation. -Active communication with department manager, analytical team and project managers about job status, rush ETA, sample matrix issues, holding time etc. -Perform daily duties while adhering to the environmental health and safety policies -Evaluate backlog and prioritize daily workload based on required due dates and holding times.

What You Bring

-High school Chemistry coursework, basic laboratory experience -Basic mathematical skills -Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail -Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English -Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills -Work independently -Strong problem solving skills -Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude -Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies -High school diploma or equivalent -General knowledge of chemistry and/or general science -Friday - Tuesday, 6AM - 3PM (eligible for a 10% shift differential) -Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship -Ability to learn quickly and multi-task
