Electrical CAD/Revit Technician/Technologist

Produce electrical design drawings and BIM models for building projects using AutoCAD/Revit.

Tasks

-Organizing and maintaining a design and CAD digital file database for each project; -Producing aspects of electrical design and drawings in AutoCAD and Revit; -Facilitating and ensuring the quality of design, drawings and graphic work produced for the team; and ensuring that the projects' needs are met in terms of project work plan schedules and budgets; -Assist and mentor new drafters

What You Bring

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills -Graduate of an Architectural Technology diploma program from a recognized postsecondary institution. -Must be well organized to be able to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments -Experience using Building Codes in Canada, as well as specialty regulations would be an asset. -Successfully carrying out assignments on project design teams; -Working knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code and electrical design principles. -Experience in design and drafting of single line diagrams, power distribution systems, UPS, cable trays, lighting, grounding, equipment layouts, Fire Alarm, motor schematics, wiring diagrams, control panels and control wiring, low voltage switchgear, MCCs and area classification . -Effective communication skills are essential, including interpersonal and verbal abilities within the team environment -Experience as a technologist in an architectural firm with a focus on Industrial, Commercial and Institutional projects. -2 years of experience preferred (we may consider candidates with less experience as this is an entry level position). -Access to a personal vehicle to visit sites may be required. -Certificate or diploma in an engineering technician or technology program (two or three year). -Comprehensive knowledge and experience with recent versions of AutoCAD. -Experience in the design, drafting and construction administration for electrical systems will be an asset. -Practical experience with Building Information Modeling (i.e. REVIT) and 3D modelling experience is an asset and will be given preference.
