Staff Surveyor

Overview

Assist on surveying projects, including staking, GIS, BIM, laser scanning, and mapping

Tasks

-Post-processing field data collected via total station, GPS, levels, 3D laser scanners, and unmanned aerial systems -Travel to various job sites and offices may be required -Building 3D models of sites and structures for owners, architects, engineers, and contractors -Preparing construction staking calculations by reading plans and interpreting CAD files -Creating mapping deliverables including boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, plats, and legal descriptions -Travel between BKF offices and other off-site locations may be required.

What You Bring

-Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred -Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or LSIT preferred -Proficient in CAD software, especially Autodesk Civil 3D -0-3 years of office surveying experience -Experience processing laser scanning data, including registration and 3D modeling, is helpful but not required -Knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment -Construction staking experience, including reading plans, construction calculations, and preparing cut sheets, is preferred
