The Role

Overview

Assist on environmental engineering projects, field work, design, and reporting.

Tasks

-Complete field assignments such as stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) inspections, spill protection, control, and countermeasure (SPCC) inspections, ASTM Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) site walks, and ASTM Phase II ESA investigation activities (e.g., drilling oversight and soil logging, monitoring well installation, and soil, groundwater, and air sampling). -Review, manage, and process construction-phase Contractor submittals and requests for information. -Support our engineering design teams for preparation of engineering design documents including plans, details, specifications, and cost estimates. -Work closely with our project managers and civil and environmental professionals on a variety of environmental engineering and construction assignments. Diverse projects include solid waste facility permitting and design, Brownfield site assessment and environmental monitoring, building abatement and demolition, underground storage tank removal/replacement, site civil/stormwater design, maintenance sediment dredging, and soil/groundwater remediation design. -Participate in specific skill training for the designated job assignments. -Coordinate task scheduling and design deliverables across a variety of environmental and engineering disciplines on muti-disciplinary design and construction projects. -Prepare reports and technical memoranda for a variety of environmental projects including environmental assessment, regulatory compliance, landfill environmental monitoring, solid waste permitting, feasibility studies, and engineering design. -Coordinate with managers and staff performing environmental assessment, remedial design and observation, and construction monitoring activities on cleanup sites and redevelopment projects. -Working collaboratively and taking task ownership to achieve client objectives and project goals.

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental/civil engineering or related field. MS or willingness to obtain MS is preferred. -Experience working in field setting and overseeing field services (e.g., construction oversight, drilling oversight and soils logging, monitoring well installation, and soil, groundwater, and air sampling) is a plus but not required. -Valid driver’s license. Availability to travel for fieldwork as needed. -Proficiency in computer spreadsheets and word processing software is required. Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and/or drafting is preferred. Willingness to obtain internal/external training to increase software skills. -Ability to work outdoors on fast-paced field assignments.
