The Role
Overview
Produce and finish composite parts for small wind turbines in a manufacturing team.

Tasks
-Kitting/sorting of components ready for manufacture. -Sewing, cutting, working with fabric. -Manufacturing composite parts, following and understanding the company’s standard operating procedures. -Keep the workshop clean and tidy and in a state suitable for visitors. -Trimming, sanding and finishing parts to a high standard. -To work in compliance with the company’s Quality Management System, including the completion of inspection forms during the manufacturing process. -Work closely with both the Head of Operations and Manufacturing Engineer and be able to absorb instructions given.

What You Bring
-Good communication skills, including written and verbal English, record keeping and basic IT skills. -Experience in soldering preferred but training will be provided. -A keen interest in ‘making and mending’ parts. -Full compliance with the company’s PPE requirements is essential. Safety equipment of the highest standard will be provided and must be used during the manufacturing process. -A quick learner and positive attitude towards learning new skills is essential. -Understanding of Health & Safety in a manufacturing environment. -Ability to follow agreed operating procedures. -Safe use of hazardous substances so strong COSHH awareness is preferred. -Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality. -Ability to work on own initiative, identifying problems as they arise and finding solutions. -Experience in the use of power tools. -Adaptable and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. -Ability to work to and follow drawings, standard operating procedures and instructions provided verbally or an ability to learn quickly. -Good fault-finding skills and an ability to retain information provided. -Good hands-on tool skills and general manufacturing ability. -Experience with Composites or an interest in the sector. -Able to follow agreed feedback procedures and communicate clearly. -Experience in a production/manufacturing environment
