Tasks
The Roadway Design Project Manager will work under the Director of Design to provide designs, management, and execution of roadway engineering department projects. S/he will be responsible for managing project budgets and deadlines and for providing Quality Control efforts. Additionally, the Project Manager will support business development efforts. -Prepares project bit documents/specifications -Oversees quantities and cost estimating efforts -Assists with project pursuits in providing technical expertise on proposals and marketing meetings -Involved with project administrative activities including proposal preparation, monthly billing, billing projections, etc. -Maintain client satisfaction/confidentiality -Oversees and participates in the preparation of design drawings in accordance with various federal, state, and municipal standards governing the design of roadway engineering projects. -Prepare drawings using MicroStation/GEOPAK, AutoTURN, and/or similar type software. OpenRoads Designer experience is a plus -Provide project management including planning, developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating design projects to ensure company objectives are met -Lead, manage, and hold accountable (LMA) project engineers -Provides design guidance to production staff and QA/QC

What You Bring
Possess a Bachelor’s degree in civil or transportation engineering from an accredited university Candidates may choose to work from any of our DAVENPORT offices: Winston-Salem, NC; Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC; Wilmington, NC; or Richmond, VA. -Use strong written and oral communication skills -Proficient with MicroStation and/or AutoCad engineering software packages standard in the industry -Have experience working with state and local public agencies -Possess Professional Engineering license (in, or ability to obtain in, NC and/or VA, SC) -Master’s degree in civil or transportation engineering is a plus -Possess strong analytical, decision making, organizational, and time management skills. -Have 5+ years of transportation engineering experience
