Electrician (Journeyman)

Overview

Maintain and repair ITS traffic signals, streetlights, fiber optics and related equipment across Southern California.

Tasks

-Inspect, install and maintain electrical components. -Terminate and splice Fiber Optic cable in various mediums. -Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools. -May work in various, changing outdoor weather conditions, i.e. rain, heat, snow, etc. -Primarily day shift; however, will work On-Call as required to meet the business needs. -Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices such as traffic signal circuits, cabinets, transformers, circuit breakers, services, streetlight luminaires, CCTV, communications equipment. -Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code.

-Willingness and capability to work on traffic signals, streetlights, and other Intelligent Transportation Equipment, using a bucket truck. -If you are classified as an Electrician: TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN, and work in the Ventura County, your hourly rate would be $67.72 -If you are classified as an Electrician: TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN, and work in Los Angeles County. your hourly rate would be $82.83. -Fiber Optic Association Certification preferred, but not required -Current/Active NEC Certification (Required). -Must have a clean driving record. -Must be able to stand, walk, squat, and bend at the waist for extended periods of time -Required to drive up to five hours a day; ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds -100% travel to project locations and company facilities across the various counties within the Ventura County, San Bernadino, Orange, Riverside and Los Angeles. -C10 Electrical contractors license preferred, but not required. -Safety sensitive position—will be required to work at busy traffic intersections -Ability to exert moderate physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 50 pounds) -Corning Fiber Optic certification or equivalent. -Experience in Fiber Optic splicing, termination, and installation. Knowledge of utilizing fiber optic splicing equipment and splicing methodologies.
