Overview

Lead commissioning of complex ABB/Kawasaki robot projects on automotive lines.

Tasks

-Coordinate supplier resources (robot programmers) to meet line buy-off KPIs and ensure smooth execution across welding, sealant, hemming, and material handling processes. -Perform on-site robot debugging including system commissioning, functional programming, process tuning, and issue resolution for ABB and Kawasaki robots. -Manage project execution from start to final acceptance (FAC), ensuring achievement of process parameters, body quality, and cycle time targets for BIW lines. -Conduct troubleshooting of hardware issues, vision system measurement and maintenance, and independently execute robot simulations for new model introductions.

What You Bring

-Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint); self-starter with a proactive and collaborative mindset -Strong hands-on experience with ABB robots; familiarity with Kawasaki robots is preferred -Skilled in robot programming, I/O setup, controller configuration, and troubleshooting in automation cells -Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to interface with customers and cross-functional teams -Working knowledge of industrial protocols like DeviceNet, Ethernet, and Profinet -Proficient in robot simulation tools such as Robot Studio and Process Simulate; exposure to AutoCAD, CATIA, and SolidWorks -Willingness to travel up to 70% and perform site work up to 90%, including shift-based commissioning -3 to 6 years of experience in robotic automation, preferably in automotive OEMs or Tier 1 environments -Interpret electrical and mechanical drawings; apply knowledge of mechanical principles, electrical components, and circuit diagrams during integration and debugging. -B.E. or Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Production Engineering -Experience in BIW applications including spot welding, MIG welding, sealing, palletizing, and roller hemming
