Collections Clerk / Specialist

Overview

Manage customer accounts, collect payments, and reconcile receivables.

Tasks

-Contact customers regarding past due balances and assist with payment resolution -Coordinate with billing and accounting teams to correct errors and post adjustments -Verify and complete lien waivers in accordance with project and customer requirements -Match credits or identify required refunds to customers -Run and review customer credit reports -Identify, apply, and post daily cash receipts -Analyze and reconcile customer accounts to ensure accuracy -Maintain and document all customer communications in Business Central -Complete various customer documentation as required -Support sales invoicing process as needed -Contact customers to verify receipt of invoices -Prepare customer statements

What You Bring

-High school diploma required; associate degree preferred -Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines -Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail -Excellent communication and negotiation skills -Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds -Ability to problem solve and adapt to changing environments -Strong understanding of credit, billing, and payment processes -Regularly required to move about the office and interact with team members -Demonstrated success collecting high-volume or complex accounts -Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, editing PDFs and ERP/accounting software -2–4 years of experience in collections, billing, and accounts receivable -Ability to work at a computer workstation and use a phone for extended periods -Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field -The ability to be persistent with collection efforts -Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team -Experience with Business Central or similar accounting platforms
