Tasks

-Comply with the requirements of the company’s risk management program, remain alert to potential loss situations and bring to Regional Finance Manager’s attention. -Oversee project initiation, billing and collection functions in a regional operations ensuring timeliness and accuracy; Ensure PA staff meet monthly billing objectives and timelines. -Directly or indirectly manage PAs in the designated Region. Mentor staff on compliance with policies and procedures, monitor compliance with the same, and correct performance deficiencies; Review performance and compensation of subordinate staff on a timely basis; obtain prompt approval of compensation increases for subordinate staff. -Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed. -Travel occasionally for regional meetings. -Develop and/or assist with training for professional staff, PMs and PAs on Corporate accounting and project management policies and procedures. -Collaborate with regional leadership, project managers, and the Regional Finance Manager on key financial matters—such as cost accruals for lump sum projects, work in progress (WIP), challenging accounts receivable, and revenue recognition—to ensure compliance with established regional standards. -Maintain contact with clients’ business offices to confirm timely receipt of invoices and supporting documentation and work to resolve issues to ensure payment of invoices on a timely basis. -Review monthly financials for accuracy related to accruals, allocations, revenue and expenses. Assist the Regional Finance Manager where needed to ensure accurate financial reporting. -Supervise revenue review process for the region, working with PAs to identify variances, cost accruals and/or potential revenue sources (e.g. cash receipts, earned value). -Assist Regional Finance Manager with analysis of monthly financial reports focusing on revenues and expenses versus budgeted forecasts; identify large variances and perform research to determine cause and potential correction, if necessary; report to the Branch Manager and Regional Finance Manager any issues of variations from standards or expectations. -Prepare project, financial, cost analysis or additional management reports as requested. -Ensure established systems are maintained by project managers to update status, budgets, earned value analysis and other project related data on a regular basis. -Generate reports to aid in tracking and analyzing financial data for the Regional Finance Manager, Operations, and department managers, including but not limited to profitability, productivity, accounts receivable, backlog, etc. -Work with the Regional Finance Manager to develop the yearly budget for the Region for approval by regional leadership.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of job costing, DCAA compliance procedures and contract file administration; and comprehension of project revenue and cost calculation. -Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required) -Experience in leading teams and fostering strong relationships with both internal and external clients. (required) -Demonstrated proficiency in presenting information clearly and effectively in both individual and group settings. (required) -A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience coordinating and administering the invoicing process for a professional services firm, preferably in an engineering firm environment or a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and seven (7) years of experience. (required) -Intermediate knowledge of data entry techniques, use of spreadsheets to build formulae, link files, etc. (required) -Comprehensive knowledge and experience using enterprise resource planning (ERP) and project management software. (required) -Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. (preferred) -A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with a major in accounting or finance is preferred; however, significant related experience may be considered.
