Tasks
We are currently seeking a Sales Manager to support the continued growth and commercial success of our distributed energy initiatives. This role will be key in driving sales performance, strengthening client engagement, and supporting the development of bespoke solar PV solutions for commercial clients. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping our go-to-market strategy and ensuring best-in-class service delivery throughout the entire project lifecycle. -Provide regular feedback to management regarding customer needs, competitive activity, pricing strategy, and growth opportunities. -Prepare and deliver high-quality proposals, tenders, ROI models, and financial justifications for both private and public-sector clients. -Conduct site assessments and client consultations to assess technical and commercial feasibility, supported by the interpretation of PV designs, schematics, and grid connection requirements. -Review and contribute to solar PV system design using software tools such as PVSol, PVSyst, or Helioscope. -Collaborate with engineers/designers to develop system layouts, energy yield forecasts, and technical solutions that are aligned with regulatory and financial standards. -Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, supply agreements, and service terms in collaboration with legal, procurement, and operations teams. -Lead and manage the full commercial sales process from initial inquiry to contract award, including client engagement, pricing negotiations, technical specifications, formal proposal delivery right through to contract signing and handover. -Prepare and manage formal bids, tenders, and submissions for larger-scale opportunities. -Develop and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders such as architects, developers, and engineers. -Identify, qualify, and engage new and existing commercial clients across sectors (e.g., SMEs, corporates, public). -Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the sales process and commercial strategy. -Attend industry trade shows, conferences, seminars, and client meetings as required. -Perform basic irradiance, shading, and loss factor calculations to support solution design and financial modelling. -Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams including marketing, telesales, and operations to support client success and lead generation. -Stay informed on market trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments in the solar and renewable energy sector. -Achieve agreed weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales targets. -Track and report on sales performance, pipeline activity, and key accounts by maintaining accurate CRM records, including all inquiries, quotes, bids, and interactions. -Assist clients in accessing financial incentives and grants, such as the Accelerated Capital Allowance. -Ensure all proposals are technically sound, commercially viable, and compliant with industry regulations.

What You Bring
-Proven understanding of solar PV system design, including knowledge of modules, inverters, mounting systems, and grid connection requirements. -A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Environmental Science, or a related technical discipline is essential. -Demonstrated ability to lead the full commercial sales process – from client engagement and solution development to proposal, negotiation, and contract close. -Familiarity with contract negotiation, commercial terms, and working with legal and procurement teams. -Strong relationship-building abilities with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders (e.g., developers, engineers, architects). -Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel across Ireland for client meetings and site assessments. -Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. -Right to work in Ireland without sponsorship. -Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a technical sales or business development role, ideally within the solar PV, renewable energy, or engineering services sector. -Flexibility to attend occasional industry events, conferences, and trade shows outside regular business hours. -Experience preparing and managing tenders and bids for public or large-scale private projects. -Additional business, commercial or sales-related education (e.g., diploma or certificate in Sales, Business Development, or Project Management) is desirable. -Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate across sales, design, legal, and operations functions.
