-Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Assist in the design of mechanical piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs) for power plant systems including steam cycle systems, boiler feed and condensate, water treatment, fuel handling, hydraulic, heat transfer systems, conveying systems, and air and gas systems. -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Coordinate with other drafters, designers, and engineers assigned to the project or a task and review work progress and results. -Assist in preparing mechanical engineering designs, including layout, design sketches, and conceptual design. -Assist in the preparation of design calculations and specifications for major power plant related equipment including, but not limited to, combustion turbines, steam turbines, boilers, condensers, cooling towers, and pumps.
-Strong work ethic - willing to do what it takes to get the job done. -Proficient in basic computing programs including the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). -Pursuing Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. -GPA above 3.0 preferred -Good written and verbal communication skills. -Preferred experience utilizing AFT Fathom or AFT Arrow hydraulic simulation software (or equivalent). -Regular, reliable attendance
