Overview
Test, verify, and maintain building automation systems, create graphics, and train staff.

Tasks
-Repair/Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts. -Ensure the proper installation of components. -Suggest new ways of doing or thinking about tasks to improve efficiency and/or quality of work. -Design images/maps of controlled systems within a building. -Reviews plans, specifications, and design to understand project scope. -Adjust equipment or system controls to ensure optimal performance. -Present designs and reports to customers or design committees for approval and discuss need for modification. -Set up and operate standard or specialized testing equipment. -Help individuals understand how to effectively implement ideas. -Discuss heating or cooling system malfunction with user to isolate problems or to verify that repairs correct malfunctions. -Complete customer service and expense reports. -Recommend, develop, or perform preventive or general maintenance procedures, such as cleaning, tightening terminals, or vacuuming control panels -Create images for various wirings, designs, or system dashboards. -Advise others on issues related to repairs, installation, or equipment design. -Inspect systems to determine if they are operating properly. -Adjust system controls to settings that meet Harris standards. -Provide sketches for changes in field design as directed. -Troubleshoots and resolves malfunctions and makes recommendations that will improve efficiency or quality of operations. -Diagnose, test, or analyze the performance of system components, assemblies, or systems. -Compile job documentation, such as certificate of completion, customer training forms, training certificates and punch lists. -Document operational activities. -Instruct individuals on how to properly and efficiently operate tools and equipment. -Test components for proper functioning. -Record and report time, materials, faults, deficiencies, or other unusual occurrences on work orders. -Mentor other team members through the work day to assist with any needed tasks. -Ensure sensor location and functionality. -Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.

-3+ years of basic understanding of various design concepts -Associates degree preferred -3+ years of basic understanding of building and construction materials, tools, and processes -3+ years of basic understanding of computers, electronics, and electrical circuits and how they work together -3+ years of basic understanding of physical principles -3+ years of basic understanding of engineering and technology including principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment -3+ years of basic understanding of mechanical systems; what they do and how they operate -3+ years of basic understanding of Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems including the various components and processes -3+ years experience in mechanical/electrical engineering or related field -3+ years of basic understanding of documentation and recording process
